Wolves Inside Us

October 31, 2009

The ONE secret – EVERYTHING outside is inside. “Good” – “bad”. I say treat both those impostors the same. If it weren’t for the “bad” how would we know to change our direction to something more fulfilling? It can’t help but be “good” to be warned when you are on the wrong track. And if you ignore it, those around you may set their own course differently. Many could be helped in that way! Still, I think this is one of the best stories ever, to highlight the importance of what we focus on. Can’t hurt to re-read occasionally.

An elderly Cherokee was teaching his grandchildren about life. He said to them, ‘A fight is going on inside me, it is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves.’ ‘One wolf is evil… he is fear, anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, competition, superiority, and ego. The other is good… he is joy, peace, love hope, sharing, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, friendship, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith. The same fight is going on inside you and every other person, too. They thought about it for a minute and then one child asked his grandfather, ‘Which wolf will win?’ The old Cherokee simply replied, ‘The one you feed.

More than any other group of people, I think those who feel a strong bond with animals are natural Empaths, people who pick up the sense of “living in the skin” of another being and feel what that being feels - whether they like it or not.

Unfortunately the empathy which often works well for understanding our fellow humans can miss the mark when it is experienced with animals. The way we generally process empathic information is with human logic and emotions. The thinking goes like this; That dog is being abused therefore that dog feels just as I would if I were being abused. Then this whole emotional pain loop starts running and brings with it a sense of rage, anger, hopelessness, impudence, all those feelings that can lead – well – nowhere good, productive, optimistic or effective.

Of course animals feel pain when abused but like children in the same situation they move out mentally and emotionally – jettison the body experience for a time – and come back when it is safer. They may become fearful but they don’t hold a grudge. They are incredibly sane. In mature humans that quality of innocence can be replaced by a rage of emotions. That is what many empaths are left to work from when they see abuse. It is a very difficult place from which to live a happy and effective life.

So what to do to become happy and effective when faced with knowledge of appalling events? There are some things that need to be clearly understood and practiced relentlessly. They are simple guidelines but easy to forget in the heat of disturbing moments – hence “relentless” awareness is needed in the practice of these guidelines.

Basics of the Law of Attraction;

* “You get the essence of what you think about, whether you want it or not.”
* “Your attention to it, invites it”
* “There is no such thing as no in this attraction based Universe.”
* “When you shout NO! at it, you are saying, come to me this thing I do not want.”
* “Find the feeling place of what you desire because the Universe is not responding to your words, but to the Vibration of your Being. And the way you feel, best represents your Vibrational point of attraction. Do your best to feel as good as you can, right now.”

Nice ideas but how do you get in the relentless practice? Click here and replace the word fear with the word anger or your own trigger to that emotional pain loop. It’s painless :)

2B or Not 2B Changed?

October 27, 2009

This just sort of came to me a few years ago but I am drawn to it again as we get closer to the “magical” year 2012 we have all been so excited about for so long. It does appear that real change (for the better) may be imminent but that is still the big question.

There was a time when men met to rampage through the halls of life raping and pillaging and having a marvelous time of it. That time is over. The last echoes of that time are fading yet many try to carry on as if nothing has changed. There will be dismay for those who can not see that a new time has come and that they are the ones who have become the endangered species. Ha Ha’s about the spotted owl come settling round their ears as their deeds die not with a bang but the infamous whimper.

Celebrate this passing! It is time to create a new earth. We start with nothing but the ruins of this previous civilization, not washed and scoured as was Atlantis. Still the detris all around in heaps and hollow monuments remain to remind us of our ruin. But this too will pass. Hollow shells left by past masters of brutality can be consecrated to new purpose and thus transformed to fit a gentler age. The new play is cast, the audience awaits. The playwrights and directors have fallen away to leave the cast to play as they would like. How shall we go brave troubadours? Shall we play light or dark, cunning or creative, venture to heights unimaginable or to old standby scripts of torture and longing? How shall we go?

The Great Cell Debate

October 23, 2009

I am prompted to write by this tweet from @gassho The Cell Refuseniks, an Ever-Shrinking Club – http://bit.ly/2s9c5w

In the article people were said to equate having a cell phone to a lack of privacy. Who gave everyone that idea? Just because we see people at the beck and call of their cell phones does NOT mean privacy isn’t possible. NEWS FLASH! Cell phones have an off button. They also have this cool feature that turns off the ring tone even if the phone is on! Gosh – who knew!

I got rid of my land line years ago. My cell phone gives me all the bells and whistles I had to pay extra for on my land line and it’s easier to turn off. I can keep it with me all the time for emergencies but don’t have it turned on much. My life sort of requires quiet. People can leave a message! Gosh – who knew.

Another reason people are cell resistant is they see so many people who can’t interact with the people they are physically with because their phone is taking center stage. It makes people angry to see so many people who are unwilling or unable to be where they are, doing what they are doing with who they are with. Hey, nothing new with that – now it is just easier to spot. If it makes you angry, while you are busy being angry with all those other people, you aren’t where you are, doing what you are doing with who you are with either.

So all together what I am saying is – tough love here – If you can’t handle the whole cell phone thing – you have issues that have nothing to do with cell phones. You may want to take a look at that. Or not.

“If” by Rudyard Kipling

October 21, 2009

IF you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream – and not make dreams your master;
If you can think – and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ‘em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
‘ Or walk with Kings – nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And – which is more – you’ll be a Man, my son!

New Directions

October 19, 2009

I’m contemplating the focus for new domain trishascott.com. I’m thinking healing & coaching support for optimum mind/body/spirit health.

I got the domain name for myself for my 65th birthday :) I thought it deserved a milestone gift. Didn’t really have a plan but one has come to me today in the form of a client’s letter of recommendation.

Working with Elsa was the first time I had the opportunity to do a full course of treatment with anybody. I have always used healing as part of animal communication work and sometimes with people who asked for a treatment but it has generally been one or two treatments which eased the problems enough for everyone to be happy for the moment, period. I wanted to do more but it just wasn’t the focus of my work.

Elsa came to me wanting healing support over a period of time. That was new to me but I was eager to see what would happen so we went for it together. The experience was wonderfully satisfying for us both and I want a lot more of that in my life. Here is her letter of recommendation that has got me planning my new web site :)

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

This is my personal approach how to express my appreciation for the support and healing work done by Trish Scott.

Introduction

I met Trish several years ago through her Internet platform ACC Animal Communication Course. I am a naturopath and treat humans as well as animals. Therefore it was of great value to learn more about animal communication. I live in Switzerland und until now have never met Trish personally. Over the years we remained in touch via e-mail and telephone.

Problem description

In July 2009, a few days before leaving for my vacation, I called Trish. I knew from her website as well as from our conversations during these earlier years that she was working as a healer. I asked her to help me with my shoulder which had gotten worse since spring 2009 and was giving me a very painful time. We spoke about how this had happened, and I also told Trish that I felt extremely stressed out and tired after a long and eventful year. Trish promised to support me during a period of 10 days which would cover my holiday preparations, travel and some more time during my stay in Greece.

Treatment

During these ten days I witnessed a very profound treatment which included all the three levels body, mind and soul. She was “looking” at my physical ailment and at my problems to relax. At my shoulder, Trish also discovered some very personal disbalances – aspects which were connected to my childhood and she discussed these issues with me.

After my call for help, Trish gave me an immediate first treatment. Since our living areas are in two time zones with a time difference of nine hours, the first healing happened to me during the night. I felt kind of a turmoil, my sleep was restless. It was very clear that something happened to my entire system. I sensed that her healing work had – besides my shoulder – also an effect on other areas in my body. This first treatment remarkably reduced pain for several hours during my day and helped me to pass a pain free night.

Trish continued the treatment by setting her healing schedule depending on how much I needed it. After 4 to 5 days the shoulder was fine and Trish supported me to become relaxed, to sleep well.

Reflections

I spent a delightful vacation. Besides the healing of my shoulder, an important spiritual transformation took place. I strongly believe that Trish’s healing had helped that this transformation which was ready to happen since long now really did happen.

Trish explained to me that she focuses her healing on the body’s cellular level, to bring the cells back in the state, before the ailment, when they were healthy.

Her support on behalf of my physical ailment as well as of my psyche and mental stress was free of religious or esoteric biases. This seems to me one of the very basic conditions in order to accept a healing.

Accepting a healing that can be trusted to be properly done opens the individuals system, which also makes it vulnerable. As a consequence it is of great importance that the healer is aware of this when ending a healing session, and properly does “close” the client’s system. Taking this into consideration, is is most remarkable that Trish’s healing work enabled my system to selectively open up and accept the spiritual transformation which then took place about two weeks after her last healing session.

The latter seems to me a proof of the long lasting high quality of Trish’s work, which was offered for a very fair price.

I am very happy and grateful to know Trish.

OK it’s Sunday morning and, as you may already know, it’s my favorite day as it’s quiet. Used to be – back in the olden days – we all ate waffles washed down with lots of coffee and read the Sunday papers. Remember that? Those were beautiful Sunday mornings for sure but things have changed. For me now, I cook up some oatmeal with walnuts and sometimes smother it with syrup to give me that good old waffle feeling, wash it down with lots of tea, check out my Sunday Horoscope on the San Francisco Chronicle site (my old favorite Sunday newspaper) then wile away the morning with my beautiful tweeps on twitter. I get inspiration and news and laughs and I put in my 2 cents worth and in general I really enjoy that time.

But today TWITTER IS DOWN! I feel just like I used to if the Sunday newspaper didn’t arrive. I don’t have a clue what to do. After all these Sundays doing what I do on Sundays and having that taken from me [!] I feel bereft. So I decided to blog about 10 things to do when twitter is down on a Sunday morning. That way I may think of something to do when twitter is down on a Sunday morning.

So Here Goes

1 – Post several links to old blog posts to your Facebook wall. OK. Did that already.
2 – Go to your feed reader and read all the posts you would never get to unless you really had nothing at all to do. OK. Did that.
3 – Write a new blog post. OK. Doing that.
4 – Meditate for a couple of hours. OK. I’ll do that next.
5 – Go for a walk. OK. After I meditate.
6 – Water the garden – maybe pull a few weeds. OK to the watering.
7 – See if twitter is up yet. In fact I think I’ll do that right now. Nope.
8 – 9 – 10 – You’re going to have to tell me. I’ve run out. What do you do on Sunday morning when Twitter is down.

Blog done. Cool. Now what do I do with it. No one will know about my new post because twitter is down. Hrumph!

Obama Wins Nobel!

October 9, 2009

Nobel Prize awarded on thought blueprints! I’m so glad The Secret is OUT!

According to the committee:

“Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world’s attention and given its people hope for a better future. His diplomacy is founded in the concept that those who are to lead the world must do so on the basis of values and attitudes that are shared by the majority of the world’s population.”

Unlike many, the committee seems to understand this;

“Hope is like a road in the country; there was never a road, but when many people walk on it, the road comes into existence.” Lin Yutang
